Lent Begins at Home and in the Heart

Courage

"If we are thrown in to the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O King. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.": Daniel 3: 17-18

Don’t get tired of help others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don’t give up. Galatians 6:9

The members of the council were amazed when the saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men who had had no special training. They also recog-nized them as men who had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13

The Courage to Risk

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To cry is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement.
To expose your feelings is to risk revealing your inner self.
To place your dreams before the crowd is to risk loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
To live is to risk dying.
Not to risk is the greatest risk of all.

“The paradox of courage,” GK Chesterton once wrote, “is that a person must be a little careless of life in order to survive.” Today, if you’re wondering if you should stick your neck out or keep your mouth shut, remember that the moment you stop fighting for what matters, you begin to die.
